About Bantock Park
Bantock Park in Wolverhampton was a popular green space and recreation area for over a century before it was closed in 2019 due to safety concerns. The park was named after local philanthropist and artist Baldwin Bantock, who funded its creation in the early 20th century. Bantock Park featured a variety of amenities, including a large lake with a boathouse, a playground, a cricket pitch, tennis courts, and a miniature railway. It was also home to the Bantock House Museum, a historical house and gardens that showcased the life and works of the Bantock family. Despite its closure, there are ongoing discussions about the future of the park and the potential for it to be restored and reopened to the public.
