About Empire Ranch
Empire Ranch is a historic 27,000-acre cattle ranch located outside of Carson City, Nevada. It was founded in 1877 and has been in continuous operation since then, making it one of the oldest and largest ranches in Nevada. The ranch has played an important role in the history of the area, including serving as a stop on the Pony Express and as a supply center for the Comstock Lode silver mines. Today, the ranch is owned by the Bureau of Land Management and is open to the public for hiking, horseback riding, and other recreational activities. The Empire Ranch Foundation was established to support the preservation and interpretation of the ranch's history and cultural heritage.
