About Sewell's Point
Sewell's Point is a peninsula located in the city of Norfolk, Virginia. It is best known for its role in naval history, serving as the site of the historic Naval Station Norfolk, the world's largest naval base. The area was named after Captain Henry Sewell, who sailed into the area in 1607 and gave the area its name. Today, Sewell's Point is home to numerous parks, beaches, and other outdoor recreational areas, as well as a number of historic landmarks and monuments.
