About The Barracks
The Barracks is a historic building located in Plattsburgh, NY that was originally built in 1838 as a military barracks for soldiers stationed in the area. The building was later used as housing for students attending the nearby State University of New York at Plattsburgh. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and now serves as office space for various businesses and organizations. The Barracks is a unique example of Greek Revival architecture in the area and is often used as a symbol of Plattsburgh's rich history.
