About Jorhat Gymkhana Club/ Polo Ground

Established in 1876 by D. Slimmons, the Jorhat Gymkhana Club in Assam, India, is one of the oldest golf courses in Asia and the third oldest in the world. Originally built as a recreation center for British tea planters, the club features a lush 9-hole golf course, lawn tennis courts, a swimming pool, billiards, polo facilities, and a cricket ground known as Jorhat Gymkhana Ground. The club hosts the annual Governor's Cup and has a rich history of horse racing and other sporting events.
