About Duck Creek

Duck Creek is a tributary of the Trinity River that flows through Garland, Texas. It is approximately 22 miles long and covers a watershed of 44 square miles. The creek is named for the numerous ducks that once inhabited the area. It is known for its natural beauty and is a popular destination for hiking, biking, and fishing. However, because of urbanization and development, the creek has experienced flooding, erosion, and water quality issues over the years. In 2019, the city of Garland began a class="h-100"06 million project to upgrade the creek's infrastructure, including flood control measures and natural habitat restoration.
