About Alice Springs
Alice Springs is the third-largest town in the Northern Territory of Australia, with a population of around 28,000. It is located in the center of the country, around halfway between Darwin and Adelaide. Alice Springs is known as the "Red Centre" due to its red desert landscape and is surrounded by the MacDonnell Ranges. It is a popular tourist destination, famous for attractions such as Uluru (aka Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (aka The Olgas), and Kings Canyon. It also has a rich cultural heritage with a large Aboriginal population, and an interesting colonial history, having once been a telegraph station and later a staging post for the Ghan railway which runs from Adelaide to Darwin.
