About Keilir
Keilir is a dormant volcanic mountain located near Reykjavik, Iceland. It is made up of volcanic tuff layers and is notable for its distinctive cone shape. The mountain is named after a type of falcon, the kestrel, which is common in the area. The Keilir hiking trail is a popular destination for hikers and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby town of Hafnarfjörður and the Atlantic Ocean. In recent years, Keilir has also become home to the Keilir Academy, a private college offering courses in aviation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
