About Tytherington

Tytherington is a village and civil parish located in the southwestern part of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It was originally an agricultural area but, following the Industrial Revolution, it grew to become a hub for coal mining, textile manufacturing and silk weaving. The village is home to an iconic 18th-century Grade-II listed manor house, Tytherington Hall, which was built by Samuel Jackson, a wealthy silk manufacturer. Today, Tytherington is a popular residential area with a mix of modern and traditional homes, including large executive houses, apartments, and retirement properties. It has several local amenities, including a shopping centre, a local pub, community centre, and a golf course. Its schools regularly receive "outstanding" ratings, and its location close to the Peak District National Park makes it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
