About Bill Roberts Golf Course
Bill Roberts Golf Course is a public course located in the capital city of Montana, Helena. It was opened in 1927 and was designed by legendary golf course architect, Tom Bendelow. The course measures over 6,000 yards from the back tees and features tree-lined fairways, small, well-bunkered greens, and a few water hazards.
The course was named after Bill Roberts, a Helena native and avid golfer who served as the course superintendent from 1931-1948. In 2014, the Bill Roberts Golf Course underwent a major renovation, which included the rebuilding of several greens and tee boxes, new bunkers, and the installation of an irrigation system.
The course offers a pro shop, driving range, and a full-service restaurant and bar. It is also home to the Montana State University-Northern golf team. Bill Roberts Golf Course is a popular destination for local golfers as well as visitors to Helena.
