About Minnewasta
Minnewasta is a reservoir located 15 km south of Morden, Manitoba in Canada. It was created by constructing a dam on the Dead Horse Creek in 1912. The reservoir was initially built to provide water for the fields for the development of the Morden-Borden Irrigation District. Over the years, the area has become a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike, offering various recreational activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and camping. The name Minnewasta is derived from the Dakota Sioux language, meaning "good water."
