The Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh, which is also known as "The Burgess", is the oldest recorded golfing society in the world. It was founded in 1735 and is located in the Park area of Edinburgh. The club has a rich history and has been home to many prestigious golfing events over the years, including the Scottish Seniors Open and the Scottish Boys' Championship. The course itself is a traditional parkland layout, with narrow fairways, well-protected greens and beautiful views across the city. The club has a strong community spirit and is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and hospitality. Membership is by invitation only, and the waiting list is said to be one of the longest in the world of golf.
