About Indian Springs

Indian Springs is a private wildlife sanctuary and outdoor recreation area located in Fillmore, Illinois. The sanctuary covers 850 acres and includes several hiking and biking trails, fishing ponds, and camping facilities. Indian Springs is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, turkey, coyotes, and many species of birds. The property was formerly owned by the wealthy St. Louis entrepreneur, Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. and was later donated to the Nature Conservancy in the 1970s. Today, Indian Springs continues to be managed by the Nature Conservancy and is open to the public for a variety of outdoor activities.
