Lost Pines, Texas, United States — United States Of America
About Lost Pines
Lost Pines refers to a 13-mile stretch of loblolly pines that are located in Bastrop, Texas. These pines are unique because they are the westernmost stand of this species in the United States. The Lost Pines are a popular destination for hiking, camping, and bird-watching, as the area is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the endangered Houston Toad. Unfortunately, in recent years, the area has been affected by devastating wildfires, with the most significant occurring in 2011, which destroyed almost all the pine trees. The pines are making a gradual comeback, but the effects of the fire are still visible in some areas.
