About Freeport Country Club
The Freeport Club, established in 1893 in Freeport, Illinois, is the oldest golf course in Northern Illinois. Originally a 6-hole course, it expanded to 9 holes and, in 1913, renowned architect Harry Collis designed the current 18-hole layout. The course features natural rolling terrain, elevation changes, and well-maintained greens, offering a challenging experience for golfers of all skill levels. Notably, Arnold Palmer played an exhibition match here in 1963 to celebrate the club's 70th anniversary.
