About English Turn
English Turn is a gated community and golf course located in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was originally part of the Louisiana Purchase and named for English pirate and privateer Jean Lafitte, who is said to have turned his ship around in the area during a naval battle. The English Turn Golf & Country Club was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is known for its challenging course with water hazards and deep bunkers. The community also has luxury homes, tennis courts, swimming pools, and a marina on the Mississippi River.
