About Royal Portrush
Royal Portrush is a prestigious golf club located in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was established in 1888 by a group of local businessmen and was given its "Royal" designation by Queen Victoria in 1892. The club boasts two 18-hole courses, the Dunluce Links and the Valley Links. The Dunluce Links is the more famous of the two, having hosted the Open Championship in 1951, and will do so again in 2019. It is considered one of the most challenging courses in the world due to its natural terrain and wind. The club has also played host to several other prestigious tournaments, including the Irish Open and the Senior British Open. The club has been undergoing significant renovations in preparation for the 2019 Open Championship.
