About Admrial Nimitz Golf Course

Admiral Nimitz Golf Course is a 27-hole golf course located in the southwestern part of Guam, near the village of Agat. It was opened in 1950 and named after Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, who commanded the US Pacific Fleet during World War II. The golf course was built to cater to the recreational needs of military personnel stationed on the island, but it is also open to the general public. It features three distinct 9-hole layouts: Ocean, Palm, and Lakes. The Ocean course is the most challenging, as it is situated along the coast and is prone to strong winds and ocean breezes. The golf course has undergone numerous renovations and upgrades over the years, including the installation of a new irrigation system, renovation of the greens, tee boxes, and fairways, and the addition of a new clubhouse in 2009. It also hosts various tournaments and events throughout the year, including the annual Guam Open. In addition to golfing, visitors to the Admiral Nimitz Golf Course can also enjoy other amenities on site, including a driving range, putting green, pro shop, and restaurant. The course is known for its lush tropical beauty, spectacular ocean views, and challenging yet rewarding layout.
