About Lothianburn
Lothianburn Golf Club was located in the south-west of Edinburgh in Dalkeith. It was opened in 1893 and had a beautiful 18-hole course. However, the club experienced declining membership and revenue, and in 2017 it was announced that the course would be closed for good. The land was sold to CALA Homes for the development of new housing. The club was known for its challenging course with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat. Many famous golfers played at Lothianburn including Tom Watson, Seve Ballesteros, and Ian Woosnam. Although the club is closed, its legacy lives on in the memories of those who played there and the history it left behind.
