About Heather Glen

Heather Glen, located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was a popular golf club that is unfortunately closed as of October 1, 2019. This beautiful golf course was situated on a 400-acre historic Scottish heritage preserve. The club featured 27 holes of championship golf designed by architect Willard Byrd, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and natural beauty. Heather Glen provided golfers with a unique experience by incorporating the Scottish theme into the course's design and atmosphere. The three nines were named the "Moorland," "Glens," and "Heathland" to reflect the traditional Scottish links, valleys, and heath-style golf courses. The course was hailed for its challenging yet fair gameplay, with wide fairways, large bunkers, water hazards, and undulating greens. Golfers had the opportunity to test their skills across the diverse terrain, including natural wetlands, rolling hills, and towering pines. Additionally, Heather Glen had excellent facilities to complement the golfing experience. It included a spacious clubhouse with a pro shop, dining options, and practice areas for honing one's skills. Visitors could also enjoy the picturesque views of the course from the clubhouse. While Heather Glen is no longer operational, it remains a fond memory for past visitors and golf enthusiasts who enjoyed its unique Scottish-themed atmosphere and exceptional golfing experience.
