About Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire is a county in the East Midlands region of England. Stragglethorpe is a small village located in the south of Nottinghamshire, close to the border with Leicestershire. It has a population of less than 100 people and is situated in an area of mainly agricultural land. The village dates back to at least the 13th century and was originally part of the nearby Belvoir Castle estate. Today it is a quiet, picturesque village with a church, a small number of houses, and a pub. The nearest town is the market town of Bingham, which is about 3 miles away. Nottinghamshire as a whole is known for its connections to the legend of Robin Hood, who is said to have roamed Sherwood Forest, which is located in the north of the county. Nottingham, the county town, is also famous for its lace-making and bicycle industries. The county is also home to several historic castles, including Nottingham Castle and Newark Castle.
