Uttoxeter is a market town in East Staffordshire, located on the banks of the River Dove. It is famous for its racecourse, which hosts one of the biggest National Hunt fixtures in the country, the Midlands Grand National. The town is also home to the Uttoxeter Market, which takes place twice a week and has been a fixture in the town since the 13th century. Uttoxeter is known for its historic architecture, with buildings such as the 12th century St. Mary's Church, the 18th century Town Hall, and the Old Grammar School, which dates back to the 16th century. The town has a population of around 14,000 people and is conveniently located near to the A50 and M6 motorway, making it an easy place to get to and from.
