About Coulsdon Manor & Golf Club

Coulsdon Court is a Grade II* listed building located in Coulsdon, London. It was originally built in the early 18th century as a private residence and later became a school for boys in 1890. In 1940, during World War II, it was taken over by the British Army and used as a command center for anti-aircraft operations. After the war, Coulsdon Court was used as a hospital for mentally challenged children until it was eventually closed in 1985. It was then renovated and converted into luxury apartments, which are now highly sought after due to its impressive architecture and historical significance. The building features Georgian architecture, including a grand entrance hall with an impressive staircase, ornate cornices and ceiling roses, and a stunning clock tower. The surrounding gardens are also of historical significance and were mainly designed by Gertrude Jekyll, a famous English garden designer. Today, Coulsdon Court is a popular location for filming TV and film productions, with appearances in shows such as Poirot and Foyle's War. It remains a beautiful and important part of Coulsdon's rich history.
