About The Loma Club (Sail Ho)
The Loma Club, formerly known as Sail Ho Golf Club, is a historic 9-hole, par-3 course located in San Diego's Liberty Station. Dating back to the early 1900s, it was originally part of the San Diego Country Club and later merged with A.G. Spalding's Point Loma Golf Club in 1914. The course was utilized by the Navy in the 1920s for physical fitness and recruit training, with legendary golfer Sam Snead serving as head Golf Professional during his service. Renowned architect Cary Bickler redesigned the course, blending classic golf traditions with modern amenities, making it a community hub for both golf enthusiasts and casual players.
