About Caesarea
Caesarea is a coastal city in Israel that was built by King Herod the Great in the 1st century BC as a port city and a political and cultural capital of Judea. It was named after the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus. The city was later ruled by the Romans, Byzantines, Muslims, Crusaders, and Ottomans. Today, the ancient city is a popular tourist destination and is known for its archaeological sites, including a Roman amphitheater, remnants of a Crusader castle, and a reconstructed hippodrome. It also has a marina, beaches, restaurants, and luxury residential areas.
