About The Bridges
The Bridges in Madison, WI are a series of 14 pedestrian and bicycle bridges that span across the Yahara River and its tributaries within the city. The bridges were designed and constructed between 1973 and 1996, and have become a distinctive feature of the city's landscape. Each bridge has its own unique design, with some being more functional and others being more artistic. The most famous bridge in the series is the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The Bridges offer views of the city's picturesque waterways and have become a popular spot for photos, walking, and biking.
