About Chestnut Ridge

Chestnut Ridge is a mountain ridge located in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. It is a part of the Appalachian Mountains and stretches for over 50 miles through Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The area is known for its hiking trails, scenic vistas, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Chestnut Ridge is also home to several state parks and forests, including Yellow Creek State Park and Forbes State Forest. The ridge is named after the American chestnut tree, which was once abundant in the area but became nearly extinct due to a blight in the early 20th century.
