About Boysnope Park
Boysnope Park was a former hospital and asylum located in Irlam, Greater Manchester. It opened in 1902 as the Manchester Ship Canal Hospital and was later renamed the Boysnope Hospital for Mental Diseases in the 1920s. The hospital housed over 1,500 patients at its peak and was known for its pioneering use of occupational therapy for those with mental illnesses. It closed in 1999 and the site was later redeveloped into luxury apartments and townhouses.
