About The Rawls Course

The Rawls Course is a public golf course located on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. It was designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Doak and opened in 2003. The course plays to a length of over 7,200 yards from the championship tees and has been ranked as the #1 public course in Texas by Golfweek Magazine. The Rawls Course is named in honor of the late Jerry S. Rawls, a Lubbock businessman and philanthropist who provided significant funding for its construction. The course's signature hole is the par-3 16th, which features a large green and a deep bunker guarding the left side. In addition to the golf course, The Rawls Course is also home to a golf academy where players can receive instruction from PGA-certified teaching professionals.
