Brunssummerheide is a nature reserve located in Brunssum, a municipality in the Dutch province of Limburg. It covers an area of approximately 600 hectares and consists of heathlands, pine forests, ponds, and sand dunes. The heathlands are home to several rare plant and animal species, including the European nightjar and the sand lizard. The reserve is a popular destination for hiking, cycling, and picnicking. The Brunssummerheide also hosts several events throughout the year, including a famous cross-country run in December called the Abdijcross. It is also known for its beautiful sunsets and is a perfect place to relax and unwind.
