About Rio Olympic Golf Course (Campo Olimpico)
The Rio Olympic Golf Course was built specifically for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil and it was the first time golf had been included in the Olympics in over a century. The course is located in Barra da Tijuca, a neighborhood in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was designed by American golf architect Gil Hanse, who used the sand dunes and natural terrain of the area to create a unique and challenging course. The course has 18 holes and is approximately 7,140 yards long, with a par of 71. After the Olympics, the course was opened to the public, becoming the first public golf course in Rio de Janeiro.
